The world’s first 100% plant-based biodegradable trainer

Description: Sustainable fashion and product innovations have been steadily growing in popularity, and now it’s celebrating a new milestone. Eco-footwear brand Native Shoes have launched the world’s first completely biodegradable trainers, made entirely out of plant-based materials. The genderless ‘Plant Shoe’ is responsibly made using materials including pineapple husks and eucalyptus pulp, and are currently retailing at £205. The brand can only create small batches of the shoes at a time, but restock regularly – keep an eye on their website or social media!

Description: Mixed-media artist and illustrator, Quentin Jones, is renowned in the fashion and art world, collaborating with top designers such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Now, she’s teamed up with contemporary homeware brand Habitat to create a curation of original artworks adapted for home textiles. Her signature style of bold graphic shapes, primary palettes, and structured typography are captured across rugs, priced between £450-£500, and cushions priced at £60.

ASOS to begin stocking Topshop

Description: This summer, ASOS will be adding Topshop and Topman to its ever-expanding portfolio of brands and products. This means shoppers can use their perks such as discounts and next-day deliveries, that are exclusive to ASOS, to their Topshop buys. As ASOS have only made a short announcement about the launch, it’s still unclear which ranges will be available. It could be in the shape of a capsule collection exclusive to ASOS, or an addition of hundreds of Topshop products to the site – we’re excited to find out!

Description: Nike is frequently releasing collaborations with designers, influencers and pop culture trends alike. One recent announcement we’re really looking forward to is a collaboration with Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’, which is returning for its third series on the 4th of July. A perfect addition to the nostalgic Eighties trend which is still going strong, the collection features trainers, T-shirts, jumpers and hats influenced by the show’s bold and eclectic style.

ASOS launches augmented reality feature

Description: ASOS has launched another feature to its innovative interface, this time experimenting with augmented reality in a design they have called ‘Virtual Catwalk’. Developed with augmented reality firm HoloMe, the feature offers consumers a new shopping experience. While in its trial-mode, it has currently been applied across 100 new-in ASOS Design products, and only features on the retailer’s app. Shoppers will be able to view the products as if in real life, with models appearing right in front of the screen.
