Now in its 8th and final season, the hype around Game of Thrones is palpable. Even fashion brands are making their mark by releasing products and collections inspired by the show’s major themes and characters.
What has now become the most watched TV series in history, as well as gaining the status of ‘the best show of our time’, Game of Thrones inspired products are starting to appear everywhere. As the final season raises viewing numbers to an all-time high (the first episode alone broke HBO’s audience record with 17.4 million views), it’s a fantastic opportunity for brands to create collections that will appeal to a huge amount of consumers.
Ahead of the grand finale, here are some of our favourite releases:
Adidas have launched a six-piece range of one of the brand’s most popular running trainer styles, Ultra Boosts . Each trainer design is inspired by one of the core houses or characters, which are creatively represented by colour schemes, a phrase or sigil, a custom branded insole and a house-specific phrase or crest under the tongue. Have a look at the range here.
NYC-based accessories brand Danielle Nicole has created a desirable line of pieces which consists of backpacks, crossbody bags, pouches and wristlets. Luxurious materials and embroidered patterns are imaginatively used to represent characters and creatures alike. Browse the line here.
Game of Thrones devotees who also appreciate some rock and roll style are going to love this 11-piece collection, produced by menswear designer John Varvatos. The impressive ‘Winterfell Leather Jacket’, complete with a band collar, lace-up sleeves and antique metal eyelets – and a price tag to match! The designer has very successfully captured the world of Westeros with his use of fabrics and textures. Linen, heavy washes and distressed finishing feature substantially – making the fantasy story almost tangible. Have a look at the pieces here.
Emmy award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton, also the costume designer for Game of Thrones, has collaborated with London-based jewellery brand Yunus & Eliza to form MEY Designs, a brand specialising in selling replicas of pieces from the worlds of film and television. Brought to life for fans to embrace the regal style of Queen Daenerys, the range offers spectacular pieces including pendants, neck sculptures, cuffs and body chains.
