Three men convicted of the murder of 25-Year-Old Nigerian-British model Harry Uzoka.
George Koh, a 24-year-old British model has been found guilty in the murder of Nigerian-British model Harry Uzoka. Two other men Merse Dikanda, 24 and Jonathan Okigbo a personal trainer, also 24, have also been convicted for murder and manslaughter
Koh and friends made their way to Uzoka’s apartment on January 11, where surveillance footage showed him being chased by the three men.
Harry Uzoka, 25, died on the pavement outside his home in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, after he was stabbed.
The jury was told a “confrontation” was arranged in Ollgar Road in Shepherd’s Bush following a series of phone calls and messages on WhatsApp and Instagram.
Prosecutors said that Koh had bragged to fellow model Annecetta Lafon that he had sex with Uzoka’s girlfriend, fellow model Ruby Campbell, and the two decided to confront one another in person.
The court also heard how Koh ‘wanted to be as famous as Uzoka’.
The murder of Harry was a hard pill to swallow for many young people in London, due to the visible talent the model possessed and the incredible future he had ahead of him. South London rapper, Dave aka Santan Dave, had written a tweet suggesting they should bring back, stop and search laws, for which he received some harsh criticism. In his song ‘Hangman’ he explained: “And I don’t know what I was thinking with the tweets about the searches, but when Harry got murdered man was so emotional, tryna find solutions.”
All three men will be sentenced on 21 September. Koh, of York Way, Camden, pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing a knife. Dikanda, of no fixed abode, denied possessing a machete on 11 January and possessing a knife on 25 January but was convicted of the charges.
