In Brief: Netflix releases February

Every month Netflix – one of the most beloved streaming platforms – updates its offer with new and returning shows. And, this year the service is stepping up its game, with the promise to produce 80 new Original Movies in 2018. Providing an increasing number of different genres.

The full list of content to be released in February can be access on the Netflix page, however here we have highlighted five of them.


Title: Altered Carbon – Season1
Genre: TV Sci-fi / Mystery

New Original Series, adapted from the 2002 homonymous novel by Richard Morgan, Altered Carbon it’s a mystery set in a sci-fi dystopian future. It follows the story of Takeshi Kovacs, who after waking up from 250 years in hibernation, finds himself having to solve the murder of a wealthy man in order to avoid being arrested, being the only survivor of a rebellion against the new order that took place 250 years in the past.

Title: 8Mile
Genre: Movie Biographic /Drama/Musical

The 2002 movie that feature the famous rapper Eminem and depicts his story and the struggles the singer had to face on his journey to fame. Its song Lose Yourself was the first ever rap song to win an Oscar for best music.

Title: My Next Guest Needs no Introduction – David Letterman
Genre: Talk Show

Veteran of American Late-Night Shows, David Letterman, will be hosting George Clooney in the February episode of his new talk show. The first episode, aired in January saw Barack Obama as the guest and has obtained generally favourable reviews. The show will be running monthly and it will be composed by a total of six episodes, each featuring a long chat with globally renown personalities.

Genre: Documentary

A documentary about the life in the Republic of Georgia, seen through the eyes of a travelling trader. It helps us get to know, even a little bit, a country and a life-style different from our own, “where potatoes are currency and ambition is crushed by poverty”.

Title: Monty Python, A Collection

Genre: Movies Comedy
Date: 15/02/2018

Closer to home is the release of a collection of the movies from the iconic British comedy group Monty Python – John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. Including Monty Phyton and the Holy Grail and Monty Phyton’s Flying Circus.
